Gory Tour

Delving into the darker elements of Newcastle’s history, The Gory tour narrates stories surrounding murder, gore, science and the cities dark happenings. This tour has been written specifically to surround you with all the gory facts! If you are new to Newcastle then this tour is ideal as you will get to learn about some of the history and great tales that have already spread far and wide. This tour is also enjoyed by groups wishing to embark upon an entertaining journey through Newcastle. Groups have the option to attend at night time and if this is something you are interested in just let us know when you book a gory tour. Please note however that this is not a ghost tour. The Tour Begins at Earl Grey’s Monument, heads down Grey street and Dean street, Along the Quayside and up Dog bank. The Tour then rejoins Dean street and goes along Mosely to the Castle keep and then to the Bigg Market, Gallowgate and then to the Monument where the tour ends.


The start of the tour will be from Grey’s Monument which can be found on Blackett Street, Newcastle Upon Tyne.

Drop Off

The end of the tour will be at Grey’s Monument which can be found on Blackett Street, Newcastle Upon Tyne.

Things To Bring

For the tour, Iles Tours always suggest that you dress warmly with waterproofs as the weather is always changeable. Please do bring a camera to capture moments on the tour.

Cancellation Policy

Iles Tours operates a 24 hour cancellation policy. If you are unable to make a tour, please contact Iles Tours within 24 hours of a tour being scheduled and we will refund your purchase. Any Cancellations on the day, will sadly not be refunded.

Times and Private Bookings

Tours are available daily at Grey’s monument. We do have set times, with tours at 10 am, 2 pm and 4 pm. We are also willing to do private booking or bespoke bookings which amalgamate content from a number of tours. Please contact us and we will organise a time that works best for you and your group.
