Itinerary


The Tour beings at Monument and moves down Grey and Dean Street. It then procedes along the Quayside going up the Broad Chare onto Dog Bank and All Saints Church. Going under the A1 underpass, down onto Dean Street and up Dog Leap Stairs. This leads to the Castle Keep. From the Castle the tour goes up St. Nicholas’s Street then to the Groat and then the Bigg Market. From here the tour continues onto Newgate Street. The tour then passes The Gate, goes onto Low Friars Lane and then Dispensary Lane to Blackfriars. From Blackfriars the tour goes to the Town walls on Stowel Street. Following this onto Westgate Road and along to the Assembly Rooms. We continue down Westgate road to the Stephenson Monument and then along Mosley street. From Mosely street we rejoin Grey Street and proceed back to The Monument, completing the tour.

Pickup


The start of the tour will be from Grey’s Monument which can be found on Blackett Street, Newcastle Upon Tyne.

Drop Off


The end of the tour will be at Grey’s Monument which can be found on Blackett Street, Newcastle Upon Tyne.

For the tour, Iles Tours always suggest that you dress warmly with waterproofs as the weather is always changeable. Please do bring a camera to capture moments on the tour.

Iles Tours operates a 24 hour cancellation policy. If you are unable to make a tour, please contact Iles Tours within 24 hours of a tour being scheduled and we will refund your purchase. Any Cancellations on the day, will sadly not be refunded.



Times and Private Bookings

Tours are available daily at Grey’s monument. We do have set times, with tours at 10 am, 2 pm and 4 pm. We are also willing to do private booking or bespoke bookings which amalgamate content from a number of tours. Please contact us and we will organise a time that works best for you and your group.
